One playthrough of OpenTTD JGR will take you through the period between 1950 and 2050, during which you have to try your hardest to increase your score. This is achieved by having a constant stream of income, a large fleet of vehicles, and a high quantity of goods delivered to their respective destinations. At first, you can only build roads and trucks, establishing basic commercial routes that aren't terribly profitable. Of course, as you advance in the game you gain access to air and naval routes as well, which give much higher revenue (normally). Naturally, as the game progresses so does time, granting new technologies as the years pass. As a result, you need to take advantage of emergent transportation technologies, and upgrading your fleet is a key element of success.
